Fence and deck questions we hear at the counter
Do you carry cedar fence pickets?
Yes. All three stores stock 1x6 cedar #2 no-hole pickets in 6' and 8' lengths, along with treated pine pickets. Haughton and Shreveport also stock a redwood-tone #1 picket.
Cedar or treated pine pickets: which should I use?
Cedar resists rot and insects naturally, is lighter, and takes stain well. Treated pine is pressure-treated to resist rot and costs less. Both are in stock; ask the counter which fits your fence and budget.
How many pickets do I need?
A 1x6 picket is about 5-1/2" wide, so a side-by-side fence takes about 2.2 pickets per foot, or about 22 pickets for every 10 feet. Add a few for waste and gates, or send us your measurements and we’ll figure the whole list.
Do you carry composite decking?
We stock treated pine 5/4x6 premium deck boards at all three stores. For composite decking, ask the counter what we can bring in for your job.
Do you deliver fence and deck materials?
Yes. We deliver to job sites across Northwest Louisiana from our Mansfield, Haughton and Shreveport stores. Call the store closest to your job to schedule.
